2017 TWP Gala &MoveMaker Awards

Celebrating over 20 years of creative youth development with Teens With a Purpose! TWP has helped thousands of young people grow up to be healthy, caring, and responsible. The Gala helps to raise funds to champion the Teens With a Purpose mission “To create a platform that empowers young people to use their voice, creativity, reflection and action to affect personal growth, transform lives and impact communities.”
The Gala celebration includes gourmet foods, student showcase, silent auction and the Move Maker Awards.
The keynote speaker for the 2016 TWP Gala was Kevin Judd. Mr. Judd is President of the National Bar Association (“NBA”), the oldest and largest national voluntary legal association with a network of over 66,000 predominantly black lawyers, judges, educators and law students.
The annual Gala honors youth in Hampton Roads with the “Move Makers” award. The winner will receive the Adam Haylock Scholarship. The award is presented to youth who have triumphed over adversity. A special commemorative magazine is presented to each guest. The commemorative magazine features highlights from Teens With a Purpose, Move Maker stories, product and service advertisements, local businesses, organizations, and individuals that support Teens With a Purpose and much more.
