A SUMMER FULL OF OPPORTUNITIES
- Teens With a Purpose (TWP) HIPterns (Holistic Health Internship Program) is a partner on a grant with Norfolk Botanical Gardens (NBG) for workforce readiness skills (centered around horticulture -plant care and the Green Industry) during a summer program that included the opportunity to earn monetary incentives. This grant-funded program is for the ages of 16 – 24. We have 8 openings.
- Hope Chasers Summer Experience – Six weeks of peer-leadership skill development, interactive art, culture and STEAM engagement with field trips etc. Each week the participants explore a different focus area. 8:30 – 4:30 Monday – Friday.
- Better Choices is a 4 hour Saturday program 9am – 1pm that provides high-risk youth with an opportunity to identify and target risk/need areas. This series focuses not only on education, but also on guiding juvenile high-risk populations in taking ownership of the choices and actions that lead to positive change, develop a change plan and learn to handle difficult situations. They earn a stipend every two weeks for progress & consistent participation.
