Hampton Roads Youth Poets (HRYP) was created to give Hampton Roads Youth a chance to have their voices heard & speak their minds to fuel a positive youth movement!
Young people: Khayla Walker, Jasmine Kiah, Donovan Pollock, Nia Naomi Johnson,  Dayana Lee and Dawn Marie Pickney have qualified to form the team to participate in Brave New Voices International Youth Poetry Festival.
BNV is a network of over 70 organizations committed to building safe spaces that challenge young people to develop and present the power of their voices.  Teens With a Purpose is proud to be included in the Brave New Voices Network!

WHAT IS BRAVE NEW VOICES?

All over the United States, a new generation of poets is emerging. Brave New Voices HBO series shared their voices with the world!  This festival now in its 19th year, continues to demonstrate that this generation can speak for themselves.  BNV captures teenagers picking up the pen and taking hold of the microphone with passion, intelligence, creativity, honesty and power.
