Chinyere Onyirimba is Hampton Roads native, hailing from Norfolk, Virginia. She attended Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia, where she received a Bachelor of Science in Health Preparation and Professional Science then went on to graduate from Notre Dame of Maryland University School of Pharmacy (NDMU) in Baltimore, Maryland with her Doctorate of Pharmacy. She believes that service and volunteerism is at the core of the work she wants to provide as a pharmacist; attributing this form of engagement to rebuilding and equipping marginalized communities with the tools needed to thrive. These principles were absorbed at an early age when she was introduced to the world of pharmacy through the lens of a young woman from Hampton University School of Pharmacy. Through this mentorship, Chinyere realized that her passion for health-sciences could be fashioned to provide education and other methods of community outreach to the underserved. She was heavily involved in pharmacy organizations on NDMU’s campus such as American Pharmacist Association (APhA), Student Society of Health-System Pharmacy (SSHP), Pharmacy Leadership Society (PLS) and
especially Student National Pharmaceutical Association. During her adolescence, she grew in her purpose and worked for Teens With a Purpose, a youth empowerment organization which promotes peer leadership, civic engagement, and social change. She is currently completing her PGY-1 Community-Based Residency with Baylor Health Enterprises in Dallas, Texas.
