Teens With a Purpose proudly presents the Movemaker Awards and Adam Halock Scholarship to honor the resilience and brilliance of our Hampton Roads youth. We seek to shine a light on the quiet triumphs of everyday teens (ages 13–18) whose positive choices, acts of courage, or steps toward growth too often go unseen at the Slover Library (November 1st, 2025) and for the first time ever the Gala will feature a vibrant Youth Fashion Show. 2024 recAP
Last year’s gala was especially meaningful as we honored our founder, Deirdre “Mama D” Love, for her 28 years of visionary leadership and dedication to the youth of Hampton Roads. The tribute to Mama D was a powerful reminder of how one person’s passion can ignite a movement that transforms countless lives. The gala highlighted the resilience and achievements of local youth through the Move Maker Awards and the Adam Haylock Scholarship. Additionally, the screening of The Underwater Project shone a light on TWP’s efforts to build a greener, safer & healthier environment in the St. Paul community.
