In August, Teens With a Purpose has made a real splash as it delivers another powerful season of youth voice with its second annual Just Aart Concert Series led by TWP’s Music Made Simple and supported by TWP’s Hampton Roads Youth Poets. The Just Aart Concert was created to give Hampton Roads Youth a chance to have their voices heard and speak their minds to fuel a positive youth movement!
The Just Aart Concerts feature local and regional youth artists, educators, and community leaders, all engaged, encouraging inclusion, self-expression and shared knowledge, that their art shapes and saves their lives every day! The concert, held at the Virginia MOCA in August with an encore performance at the Virginia Beach Oceanfront during the AFRICANA Festival, inspired audiences of all ages! The special concert featured a special teen-centered mural featured at the Just Aart concert. The mural was painted by teens and community members during Teen Just Aart Day held at the Sandler Center earlier in August, sponsored by Virginia Beach Office for Cultural Affairs. The Just Aart Concert celebrated the message in the mural, Speak Life, Grow Love and Live True. The mural was also seen all weekend long at the Virginia Beach
Oceanfront on 24th Street during the AFRICANA Festival. The events captured media attention of
