Teens With a Purpose CELEBRATED the youth voice, power, identity and imagination this past Sunday at the Virginia Beach Qualifying Slam. Courageous youth poets took the stage with one objective – to share their stories. All participants will move on to be on the Hampton Roads Youth Poetry Team and the top three ranking have qualified to compete at the Grand Slam Finals. Congratulations to Khayla “Cuyjet” Walker, Connie “Fluencee” Potts and Nicole “SageFlo” Peeples! Besides the electrifying spoken word shared, the audience members were treated to an outstanding performance by young artists 4thLuv and R.O.B and Marv P. from TWP’s Music Made Simple. Special thanks to hosts Miss Hampton Roads United States 2014 Jasmine Canady and TWP leader Robert Johnson.
